Dear Charlotte's family: Those who have given to others with kindness and caring live on in the hearts of all who knew them. She was a wonderful friend who helped me at Westlake Elementary when I was the Principal's Secretary. She encouraged me to find new and easier ways of keeping track of all that goes on at an elementary school. She has always held a special place in my heart. My thoughts are with you at this sad time. Dear Frank, Greg, Brian and Family,
I am sorry for your loss, and I hope your fond memories of Charlotte will comfort you always. -------- I hadn't seen Charlotte for a couple of years, but our acquaintance goes back to when our kids were at Westlake School and Boy Scouts. Also, I belonged to Tri T with Charlotte for a time. --------- I remember Charlotte as a soft spoken, unassuming, friendly woman. My son was in her class years ago; she was a wonderful teacher, And I don't doubt that she was the best as a mom and wife.
sincerely, Marilyn (Lyn) Walton

I remember Mrs. Carrol from Garfield Park many, many years ago. I can't remember if it was 1st or 2nd grade but I do remember how pleasant and very attractive I thought she was. I have a very vague memory of some of the west side students that went to Garfield Park in split sessions because of overcrowding, I guess. Shortly after, they built Natural Bridges. All of my memories of the time at Garfield Park are vague except of Mrs. Carrol. I wonder how many of the other west side kids remember her.

I didn't know my great aunt very well, but she was a woman who had earned not only my mother's love, but her respect as well. Charlotte was a strong, confident woman who will be greatly missed by those who knew her.

Charlotte was teaching first grade when I was a music teacher. She commented that her class needed a song about tattling (telling on classmates). I wrote one for the class and it became one of the most successful songs in my teaching career. Charlotte was a wonderful teacher and a dear, compassionate person. I wish the family all the best and she will always be a dear memory to me. Freya Sands

Mrs Carroll was my grade school teacher; I attended Garfield Park & Bay View schools. She must have been so young when she started teaching because I'm almost sixty-two. Good memories of the four room Garfield Park School! My thoughts go to her family. She did touch many hearts & minds over the years!

I have so many memories of Aunt Charlotte. I remember going to Westlake Elementary and calling her Aunt Charlotte. She would tell me, "At school, I am Mrs. Carroll, not Aunt Charlotte." We'll, those that know me, know I am stubborn, so every day, I told her, "g
Good morning, Aunt Charlotte" until she just accepted I was going to keep doing it. And every year, from 4th grade on, I would help her setup her room for the school year.
I remember staying with her around the same time my cousin, Greg, was going to get married. Aunt Charlotte, Sandy (Greg's wife), and I were up late one night making the flowers wrapped around the little net filled almonds for the wedding.
I know she was a strong woman that survived so much. She loved her family and friends, and she loved being a grandmother. She was also there for me if I needed her, and with the blessing of her family, Aunt Charlotte and my mom gave me my eyesight back....a truly amazing thing.
I love you, Aunt Charlotte!!
