I treasured Phylis. She and I worked together at Mission Hill and I did not realize that she had died. I always thought my husband and I would be able to visit her and Lou in the Los Angeles area.
Phylis helped students, staff and parents in so many ways. Her positive outlook on life, her willingness to share her expertise, and her delightful smile always brightened my days with her. I remember when she decided to become a flight attendance so she could visit her children. What a wonderful way for her to keep in touch.
Hugs to you, Lou.

My late wife, Bette, and I always talked about aunt Phylis and uncle Louie and the special bond they shared with family and friends. Aunt Phylis's love for her family was unmatched. I have always had a great sense of family when around the Agnelli clan. Aunt Phylis spearheaded the togetherness that exists in this wonderful family. My family and I were truly blessed to have known and shared a few family moments with her. She and the Agnelli family will always be in our thoughts and prayers. May God Bless.

Memories of my Aunty Phyl:
Like all of us, I have many fond memories of Aunty Phyl. I think about three homes She and Uncle Lou lived in and how different each of them was. As a child, you tend to have a different perspective then an adult might about what is important in life. Each home (I remember three) seemed to have something special about it such as the bamboo jungle, Bauer Drive and lots of adventures in Corralitos like fishing holes, camping, beans, etc.
Aunty Phyl and Uncle Lou made it possible for Bruce Bauer Lumber & Supply to have each one of the Agnelli's work there one time or another. When the Agnelli's were present at Bruce Bauer, these were special times and happy memories.
But most of all, I will never forget how important Aunty Phyl and Uncle Lou made my wife Chris, Mike, Nick and Dan (my sons) feel when they entered my life. The two of them were good at that. I believe they invited us down to Corralitos as kind of a get-aquainted visit once or twice? I recall we were going to have dinner one occasion when the propane went out. All of us rose to the challenge though. I think Uncle Lou I and I traveled somewhere to pick up take out food (My Dad called this "Grub on the Hub"). Chris has always been very fond of Aunty Phyl and Uncle Lou because of the love they constantly surrounded us with.
Last but not least, I received a note from Shirley Nell that said as follows: " I was so sad to hear about Phyl. She was a great gal. I'm really going to miss her happy smile and getting all the family updates from her. She was so faithful to all the family. She above all kept up with everyone."
While growing up, Aunty Phyl and Uncle Lou always seemed like one long continuous word. It will be hard to separate those two names now.

Dear Lou and family,
I was so sad to read Phylis' obituary this morning in the Sentinel. I was so sure that she was one person who would be able to beat the cancer and continue thriving. She had such a positive, upbeat outlook on life, not one to shrink from a challenge.
Phylis made my years of teaching at Mission Hill something to look forward to. We could share our frustrations and victories, and always with a laugh. We used to meet each other on Thursday evenings at the Safeway store in Aptos, both of us doing our weekly shopping. About every other aisle we'd have to chat...it made our shopping longer than necessary, but also much more enjoyable. She was the one that convinced me there was no reason to ruin a perfectly good weekend at Safeway when Thursday was almost over by the time we got there!
I will hold my memories of Phylis in my heart. She will be missed by all who knew her.
You were so lucky to have had her as a wife, mother and grandmother.
With fondness,
Susanna Ouse

Dear Lou and Family,
I am stunned to see Phylis' obituary this morning. We hadn't talked often lately but when we did it was like old times. She would always give me an update on you and the "kids," and comment on when she had last made my creamed spinach recipe for a holiday. She was such a dear friend, and singlehandedly planned a luncheon for me when I left Mission Hill. She also had a plaque made to remember my time there. It hangs on my wall to this day, a reminder of her friendship. Now it will have an even more acute memory.
My deepest condolences to you all.
With love,
Jim Duimstra
